Meet Marwan Tabbara

Marwan Tabbara is the first Member of Parliament for the new riding of Kitchener South – Hespeler. A first-generation Canadian, he has lived within the riding for more than 24 years. He graduated from St. Mary`s High School, and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Guelph.

Like many young Canadians he paid his way through school by working physically demanding jobs in construction and factories. Marwan was inspired to enter public service by his mother, who raised him and his two brothers on her own. He credits his family for shaping him into a compassionate individual who cares deeply about the world around him. In the MP`s role of Ombudsperson for his constituents, Marwan is committed to listening carefully and acting as an advocate for residents of Kitchener South-Hespeler with the federal government.

He aspires to exceed his constituents` expectations in providing constituency office service. He is a member of the House of Commons Subcommittee on International Human Rights and Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration. He is passionate about providing the resources to reduce immigration backlogs, particularly with respect to family reunification. Energetic and active, he enjoys weight training, canoeing, hiking, riding, and the great outdoors.
